Don't know about the shortest street but the longest is Yunge street Ontario Canada runs from Toronto lake shore for some 1,178 miles (1,896 km).

is,nt there on in york not far from m & s hat has some claim to fame, as to being the smallest?

I replied to similar question last December, Elgin Street in Bacup , Lancashire is claimed to be shortest street in the world--17feet. Think it may have been in Guinness book of records once but others dispute claim nowadays.
