Has burned down. I have had no official word from Britannia hotels. I have rang several times and was
told someone would call back. Noone has been in touch. I've only paid the deposit. What more can I do ?

Is there an alternative they can get you into - even at a higher price, they picking the delta up for the inconvenience and not contacting you.

start with [email protected]

and mention that you have alex langsam's e-mail and you will send hin a message if necessary - he's the very wealthy CEO and I am sure we can find you the address......

The one in Brighton? That was 9 days ago, and they should have acknowledged you by now.

Decide what you want - a refund or an offer of an alternative hotel on the same terms - and phone them again. Be firm.
I'd imagine they are absolutely inundated with enquiries...all with similar problems. They may very well be dealing with the most immediate...the folks who were supposed to be flying out NOW.
You could possibly be rather fortunate in my opinion!

Britannia staff are probably trying to work out what alternatives they might be able to offer customers who were booked into the Royal Albion. (If they offer you a stay at the Grand Burstin in Folkestone, I'd suggest accepting. It doesn't get the greatest of reviews but I've stayed there and I feel sure that it would be a great place for a Christmas break). So give them a little time before going into panic mode about it.
Oops...sorry about my uneducated answer. I thought this might be for a holiday in Greece. Barry wasn't there when I started typing.
If you are on facebook try messaging them that way and ask them what the situation is.
I would give them a bit longer to sort things out, it must be a huge shock for them and they have people to move who are booked in this week, next week and the week after before they get to the later bookings.

Maybe try again in a couple of weeks time.

I would hesitate to suggest you accept the Folkestone hotel myself, it is almost full with asylum seekers now and might be just about OK for one night but not an ideal place to spend a relaxing Christmas.
