Lol! 2 horses in cahoots..."I'll wave my head and you'll prance"

I wonder if the event at 19:00 caused the restlessness ?
Thats why the horse was so skittish - the equine equivalent of the toddler dancing about when they need the loo.

The guards changed positions and the 1st horse to cause the rider problems did nothing. I noticed neither guard smiled when the officer arrived ;)
It’s the Kings Troop Royal Artillery's version of the daily ceremony of the changing of the guard at Horse Guards Arch They call it The Dumping in the Yard.

Proof that an animal that size will do what it wants, when it wants, including offering an opinion on the archaic rituals it's involved in.

Personally, I quite like the continuity of rituals like this, and I guess they have to work around horses who don't feel like being good sometimes.

It underlines the golden rule - don't stand behind a horse, they do that, and they can kick without warning, and don't stand in front of a camel - they spit!
If my memory serves me
Well I believe they are the most senior regiment in the pecking order . The Garrison sergeants mess do a mean curry. I served with the Green goddesses during the firemen's strike and the Guards depot was billeted and operated there. The Guards corporals wear 3 stripes in stead of the normal two. The lance sergeants were given their marching orders in short order when the Sergeant Major saw them in HIS mess.
