Enduring Power Of Attorney Or Lasting Power?

What is the difference between Enduring and Lasting Power of Attorney?
I am thinking of going through this process and appointing family members to take on this position but am not sure which is the best way to do it.

LPA replaced enduring power of attorney several years ago.
You can no longer get an enduring power of attorney but existing ones are still valid

Don't forget there are two types of LPA
"Health" gives you the right to discuss and give consent for medical treatment.
"Financial" gives you control of bank accounts, paying bills, and dealing with utility companies.

You can register for either or both.

The Builder is correct - we have 'double' LPA for my mother's situation. so many people don't know that it's important to register LPAs while the 'beneficiary' is still compos mentis.....otherwise it can become a nightmare.
