Yes. I was very disappointed but won’t say any more till Barry has watched it!!!

i wonder whether i wasnt paying enough attention :)
It was quite 'twee' and more than a little poignant, particularly the rear-view mirror image in the very end scene as the two cars passed one another.

It was, as you say, also a tad weird; the weirdest thing being the churchyard scene with the gun. I mean, it was obvious he hadn't......

Also obvious was the 'dream-scene' at the wedding reception.

What wasn't satisfactorily explained was why Fred Thursday's name never cropped up in any of the 33 episodes of 'Morse'?

***Spoilers**

also, he was stabbed (?) then went to the wedding, then collapsed, then in hospital, then out and no-one said anything!
also, wot happened to the policeman's body (he was killed?) WHY did they shut the blenhiem case?
Think there should have been another 30 minutes to clarify things more
Yes, I agree. I kept losing the thread altogether. Most unsatisfactory.
Thursday's name is never mentioned in 'Inspector Morse' because he and his wife had to move away much further than the proposed move to Carshalton, so the biker gang would never be able to find him and exact retribution for what he did to one of theirs. Morse promised him that he would keep the secret - and so he did.
I loved this episode, thought the writing and acting sublime and very much enjoyed the documentary that followed on - although I was shocked by Shaun Evan's accent.
