I have just posted eight crosswords completed since Saturday (GK and cryptic) with FT to be finalised, making nine in total.
I feel certain that some of you ABers send off far more than this per week, and out of interest, wondered what the highest total may be?
Incidentally, I continue to await my first success!!

I usually post a dozen or so depending on which papers I've bought, and if I have enough time for any more.
I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I send in about 25 crosswords each week. I've been quite lucky, though, having won the Express Crusader, Saturday Times, the Mephisto twice, Daily Mail three times, Mail on Sunday Bare Bones, Scotsman.
I'm addicted to Crosswords - it's the only tim I use what's left of my brain!
I submit six out the newspapers each week and the RT.I also do the ones in weekly womens magazines which is another seven .Then I submit the Generalist monthly and three books of Lovatts puzzles each month.I have been addicted to crosswords for donkeys years ....If I have none to do I get withdrawal symptoms !!

We don't have the selection of crosswords available in UK and probably wouldn't be elibigle for prizes even if we could get our hands on them. Out of curiosity I gather that RT is Radio Times, but can't figure out what FT is. It's not that important, but would like to know the source of all those wonderful brain teasers. Thanks.
PS. Naturally, we haven't mailed any per week so our score is zilch.
Ontarioice, the FT is The Financial Times.
I have noticed in the past that prizes have been awarded to overseas entrants in the Spectator magazine.

As to crossword entries myself I regularly enter 11 weekly ones, and 2 or 3 monthly ones. I've been very lucky in the past few weeks having won first prize in The Spectator and in The Independent magazine.

Hi ontarioice, I was just about to reply to your query but see that ulysses100 has just done so ..... (in relation to FT - being The Financial Times).
Although you may not participate directly in our crosswords, it is noted how very often you provide valuable solutions to queries posted on the answerbank site ...........best wishes (sarumite)
Thank you Ulysses100. I will check out Spectator Magazine - if it is available on the net. Problem is that a lot of the UK mags and papers want one to become a member and that's a problem with currency and not wanting give credit information etc, et al.
Thank you also to Sarumite: We don't get the crosswords directly, but just providing some answers still makes us use our brains. We're not always correct as some clues, especially referring to UK, seem obscure to us, but we do try.
We're glad we joined Abers. It's proving to be quite a learning experience and the folks are just grand.
Hope you all win something in the near future.
PS. If one of our answers helps win a million, then as agents we should get 10 percent. Agreed?
Note to Ulysses100: The Spectator Magazine is only available to subscribers.
Another one bites the dust.
You can get the Spectator online just by registering at www.spectator.co.uk, including the crossword. Overseas entries also seem to regularly win Polymath in the FT and the Times Literary Supplement.
pjwillcox: The Times requests 98.99 sterling per year or $209 Canadian.
The Spectator requests 153 sterling per year or $323 Canadian.
Times Supplement requires 24.99 sterling per year or $53 Canadian.
I guess it would be hard to choose which on one wanted, sight unseen, and $323 is a substantial amount of money when working with our dollars.
We'll just content ourselves with being part of the Abers family.
Thanks anyway for your suggestion.

you know your sums, but they surprise me. Annual membership of the Times Crossword Club here is 25 a year, and that gets you Mephisto, TLS and a monthly special as well as the Times/SunTimes cryptics. As for the Spectator, you can simply register not subscribe, which doesn't get you all of the mag but it does include the crossword. I would not spend C$300+ for it. I also subscribe to the Guardian Xword club for abt 25 a year, which gets Observer puzzles as well (inc the legendary Azed as of a few months ago). I spend about half the year outside the UK so these are really useful. Regards and keep up the good answers.

Returning to original theme, I think it highly unlikely that the total of 25 submitted crosswords per week by JMR27 will be topped. Wow, what dedication, not to mention mental stamina!!
