What sends your blood pressure up when it comes to government, or local authority rules and regulations, or any rule for that matter.
Past or present, still in force, or not, Covid can be included, mine is covid conected.

The most bonkers rule must have been within my local authority, a visit to the local landfill / recycling centre during covid, and still continuing even now up to a point.

How can anyone who might have covid or even flu, be seen of being a danger to anyone else at any landfill? You have acres of open air, and skips about 15 meters apart. The chances of any interaction with staff who work there is almost zero, or interaction with other members of the public who need to go there. Its not normally the place you go for a chat and a coffee, its drop your rubbish off and jump back into your car/ van and off you go.

My local landfill is still requiring pre booking slots due to covid? So that's mine, do you have one that hacks you off?

Having to do an online triage just to have a chance of an appointment with a GP. Even if you speak to a receptionist, they will not make an appointment for you - they just fill out the online triage on your behalf and someone will look at it and decide if you will be seen soon(ish) or be pushed to the back of the queue and wait 2 weeks before they decide whether you warrant their attention.
i LOVE that pre-booking! Instead of an hour (in the queue and putting your stuff in), it's a 5 minute job now!

bednobs, there is an ulterior motive to the pre-booking, a charge, even if you are in a car.
I'm with bednobs - book your slot and turn up. To be fair you have to have your car registered with the council; they see your car registration and let you in. I dread going back to the queing system.
we dont get charged here!
So does ours
But nothing to do with Covid I suspect. They probably thought it was a good idea to keep doing it.
The system we have works perfectly well.
Too many to list, and far too infuriating to stick here thinking about.
On clinics it must depend where you live.
I went to my local clinic without an appointment, via a consultation at the chemist, and was booked in and seen with no fuss.
unless its asbestos or non-household type stuff, rubble and so on. However, that was the case even before covid
