Letter From Australasia Quiz

Help please with clue number 1.
I thought I had solved it but now realise my answer doesn't fit with the alphabetical nature of the answers.
Also stuck on 95, Getting nowhere with the Castle of Dunelm. There doesn't appear to be any such Castle.
I seem to be finding rather a lot of mistakes in the numbers given for answers. EG. 36 asks for a 9 letter answer but there are only 8 letters in the solution. Is anyone else baffled by these mistakes?

If you can't be bothered to tell us what clue number 1, clue 95, and 36 are, you can't expect to get much help, can you?

Dunelm is an old name for Durham. The Archbishop of Durham lives in Auckland Castle.

No.1 - Lincoln holds beginning of native people.(9)
No. 36 - Put a point on the high ground and make a den otherwise (9)
I thought i had the answer to 36 but it hasn't got nine letters.

Do you know alphabetically how 36 starts?

Put a point on the high ground could be EASTHILLS but that dont use the rest of the clue about making a den

I can almost justify Edderton but thats only 8 (point E +DEN+TOR but thats a D short)

Maybe I should have stated earlier that in this Australasia Quiz The answers to the clues I've queried all have to relate to Australia in some way.
