36. Put a point on the high ground and made a den otherwise. (9 letters).
The answer is connected to Australia - place, person or plant, etc. It starts with e. I can’t think of the answer and it links to another clue so if someone can solve it, that would be a double help. Thank you.

Perhaps setter thought name was Etheridge ? - E (point) + the + ridge (high ground). I would suggest contacting setter to confirm error.

can you give us the other clue it links to?
Dame Edna Everage
Tindrum answer doesn't fully fit the clue or the letter count.
Unless setter has made a mistake over Dame Edna's surname. ??

Tin drum. Thanks. I think the setter could have made a mistake but I think you are correct. There have been a few typos in the quiz but I’m not sure how you arrived at Dame Edna Everage. The linking quiz question is
9. Mixture of haemoglobin and phosphorus in Murray Shire disguised as 36. (5,9)
If dame Edna is correct, the answer is Barry Humphries.
9 will be Barry Humphries
Dame Edna is an anagram of "made a den".
and 9 is definitely Barry Humphries - anagram of Murray shire + P(phosphorous) + HB (haemoglobin)

I can see the anagram of Dame Edna (made a den) but how does the “Put a point on the high ground” fit?
Perhaps setter thought name was Etheridge ? - E (point) + the + ridge (high ground). I would suggest contacting setter to confirm error.

Fibonacci - Good advice
I have eucalyptus as the previous answer which would invalidate Everage on alphabetical grounds. Any thoughts?
Question Author
Quizzed 123. I have eucalyptus as the answer to no. 37 so Everage wouldn’t fit. I think that Fibonacci is correct. The compiler has made a mistake about the surname so I am sticking with Etheridge. It will be interesting to see the answers and report when they are published. Thank you for your help.
I think you are right. Thanks for your help.
