The role of the AnswerBank Editor is to maintain the quality of the website content. It is not to get involved in personal disputes between users. The harassment and bullying occurring on the site is now affecting the quality of the website.

The sly digs and conversations full of insinuations are being dragged across different threads and categories. It's making the site unpleasant.

Regular and well-established members should know better. It's a shame that those involved are regular and longstanding.

We're implementing a zero-tolerance stance when it comes to this now.

Moderators, please suspend well-established users if they involve themselves with this ongoing drama. If we feel the suspension is justified then we will leave it in place indefinitely.

I do see what’s going on, lottie - all too well - and I agree with you. However, I try to be fair to all and albeit apparently unnoticed, RH isn’t the only only one of those involved in this puerile and tedious battle who, through their unrelenting persistence to continue when they should have stopped, has come to grief.

For the record some people here ignore my posts and talk around me. That’s fine. I don’t have a problem living with it - and the bonus is no arguments. There’s always a silver lining. ;o)
I don't agree Sp Ed.
This has stopped being friendly site for all to enjoy. Noone should have to avoid a thread because they will feel unwelcome and its made so obvious that they are unwelcome.

The early morning thread is now basically a place dominated by a few who have grudges against Helen or anyone who sticks up for her. ABers are well aware of this.

Perhaps chatterbank should go.
Spare Ed, if you did force "thank yous" it might save a few people from asking for B.A.'s - it happens ;)
MissT,
Where would I post the cat videos if not Chatterbank.

I like RH, she is honest and straight to the point with her answers.
I didn't see your post, Naomi, before I posted.

I can't see a silver lining happening.

"Perhaps chatterbank should go."

Perhaps the juvenile idiots causing the problems should either grow up or leave.
MissT, CB disappeared before:

I don't think the "chatty" side of AB will ever disappear, just become a little nomadic :)

Actions of the few will not have consequences for the many. Please leave it at that. We don't want opinions on this topic, we want this topic to be annihilated. You are not helping, you don't need to be involved.
Agree Corby, but they enjoy the attention.

Wolfy you could post in Animals and Nature.

My remark about getting rid of chatterbank was tongue in cheek.
I rarely get involved as I see only too clearly how something that can start in a friendly manner can erupt, without warning, into a war of words against one or two posters. The question is "why"? What tends to amuse me is the way there seems to be a race to start GMEB - I seem to remember Emmie saying, before she went into hospital, that her place would be taken by Minty .... so let Minty start the thread as and when she feels ready to do so (as she does do sometimes).
The only time I have ever received a "nasty" comment was after I made an innocent, but truthful, remark on a foodie site - it was unbelievable the accusation I received but, luckily, an eagle-eyed Mod was on duty and the post was immediately removed.
is it a coincidence those involved all have their real face as their profile picture it does make me think is it all just for the attention or is it because they give too much information so they become targets

I agree with this. I joined this site for the puzzles of all descriptions, I seldom post now because of the vile rhetoric and hate spewed out by the usual suspects against those with opposing views, while some are using Chatterbank to continually spout their own grievances.
I think Red should be released.
You can say what you think but, in the end, the Editor's decision is final. With that, I will close this thread.
