Someone at work is on one of these and was trying to get me to join. They give me the creeps, I couldn't meet someone I hadn't already met (if you see what I mean) - think of the worst person you know - what if it was them when you turned up? Have any of you joined one, and have you 'met' your soulmate? Eeeuuggghhh!

Mick, does she look like Barbie?
She dated Mick back to the neolithic period................
Not at all sara

I can't blame her for joining a dating site though, after being married to me for 15 years...
bloody punchline, I should have known it!

craft ;o)
Have to say I was always very sceptical of such sites - until recently.
My sister met her current boyfriend via a dating website. When my Mum told me I was shocked as she'd never struggled for male company previously(my sister lives away, hence I was last to know!).
When we met up and chatted my sister pointed out that all her friends were in their 30's and invariably married or in relationships, hence they and she rarely go out, certainly not 'on the pull'.
Sis said she went with a reputable site that charges a fee. I'm guessing this acts as a filter for some of the less savoury characters one might meet via free sites.
She has been with him now for 3 years and I have to say he is the nicest, most affable and mild mannered guy you could ever wish to meet and I'm proud that he will soon become my brother-in-law.

From the answers given here it's clear that in quite a few instances it certainly works.
Philtaz, that's a lovely thing to say :o)
Thanks sara3, just telling it like it is.

As I say I was always sceptical but once my sister gave her rationale it made sense and certainly changed my views.
I agree with Sara.

You do make an important point though - the Pay For sites are a much better bet. The free ones attract all kinds of players and weirdos.

My future husband reckons I was a good deal since I was the first girl he went out with from the internet!!!! On the other hand, I spent 7 years on and off on the sites!
Well, online dating is becoming the trend. But then it also depends on the site you are joining. I would suggest you check and read online dating site reviews, like EasyWingman.com (www.easywingman.com/). EasyWingman.com provides a list of top 5 dating sites and top online dating site reviews.
I think this would depend on the online dating site you are joining. But I would suggest EasyWingm
an.com
for it provides a list of top dating sites and top online dating site reviews.
