Yes some people do have success. However you need to go through alot of bad apples to get to a few good ones.
So many weird, manipulative men out there. Divorced men who most have cheated on their spouse, not a good recommendation. Men with kids so they are finacially stuck!
Desperate men who will jump into anything, promise you anything yet are they all there. Few of them are genuine!
You get those nasty men who turn bitter if you say sorry your not the one, even if you haven't met.You get the one's who want to hang on and be your friend hoping you will consider them eventually.
You get the ones who just want sex/fun purley selfish me me me types.
And you get the types who desperate to marry to get a fee shag every night.
I would give it a go because there are a few genuine ones out there, but be wise and not naieve.

Don't give up quickly, you can get past the bad ones quickly if thats what you want. firstly you chat on the phone, give out a number, mobile one and preferably a spare number and phone so you only use it for this purpose, otherwise a few on them can become stalkers;
Make yourself a phony nickname, don't give real name addresses or full details, its not necessary, you need to safe guard yourself till you meet and know the persons stable.
Phone intereview them, those that won't go through it are not genuine and can't be bothered because they want quick fun. On the phone through chats you can tell what type of person he is by his language and the manner in which he uses it. If he don't show you a picture its because he's not attractive or that he's a player has ulteria motives.

Take it as an experiment, learn from it you will improve but don't let it put you off because it will, it did me. Otherwise you will spend years putting your life on hold like me.
