One of the best jockeys it has been my pleasure to watch. Hope he rides a fair amount of big=race winners next year and goes out on a high.
I remember the first time i saw him on ITV Racing. He was an apprentice and, having just ridden a winner, he was being interviewed by Derek Thompson. Frankie was all "Yes, sir" and "No, sir" while answering Thommo's questions. I think Thommo calls him 'Sir', now :-))

I watched a very interesting documentary recently on his life, he is a true horseman who genuinely loves the horses he works with and seems to get the very best out of them. I wonder if he will become a Trainer?
Was it really 1996? I will never forget that day, Ken.

Choux, re that day in 1996; a mate of mine had his first five in a Canadian and won almost £5K.
My aunt cleaned at the local bookies and before she left, she put £1 e.w. on his last ride of the day which, i think, was round about 14/1 at the time. She didn't take a price and ended up with £1 e.w. on a 2/1 shot:-(
Your poor aunt, Ken. It shows in my link how the odds shortened, nevertheless good for Frankie ;)
I’m not sure I’ve forgiven him for the drugs and as for messing about this last season losing for Gosden, he’s doing the sensible thing.
