a little while ago there was a TV (BBC I think) about vicars moving into new parishes, that followed them for a few months as they settled in. One of the vicars was a youngish bloke with a family who moved into a rural and very traditional parish from an urban one. He was quite "street" while the parishioners were not! There was a great shot of him saying "cheers mate" at the church door to an elderly country squire in tweeds and with a hairy dog, who looked like he was about to implode with rage (the gent, not the dog).

Any idea what happened to the vicar?

Cheers mates!

A web search reveals he's now the vicar at Great Cornard in Surrey (unless that's some other fellow of the same name).
