Freddie Hancock, Tony Hancock's ex-wife has just died, aged 92. To mark the occasion (!) The Oldie has published this article about Tony by the late Barry Cryer.

No doubt older ABers remember Tony well.

Hearing or seeing Anthony Aloysius Hancock always brings back memories of my old man, who was a huge fan of his (I inherited his love for Hancock, The Goons, Round the Horne and The Navy Lark).

Even at 60 I’m too young to have listened to Hancocks half hour when broadcast, but I have been listening to them recently on BBC Sounds and they are very good.
Also I like the Navy Lark …hilarious vintage comedy.
