Can you remember what was the reason for joining AB for the first time.
I found Answerbank and came on here to ask a question about a piece of music.
Had some very nice follow ups from another member who doesn't seem to be around anymore.

i found it by accident, i was looking for a crossword clue and came across AB. I am glad that i did, it's been a source of interest for many years.
I'm still waiting for the perfect answer to the question that I came here to ask 17 years ago:

Sqad - just read of your post and I am very very sad to read that you feel you have been treated badly on this site.

I do know that you would have many fans and patients here who have been very happy with your advice - I am one of the fans as I recall being really frightened one Friday afternoon about one of my breasts as it felt as if it was going to blow up but you reassured me that day and of course other advice that you have given me over the years when I couldn't get seeing a doctor.

Please be reassured that you are very warmly looked up to here - I speak for myself of course.

JJ...LOL...don't worry, AB was a shock for me, a total culture shock, but I was only speaking about MY attitude to AB which I agree is in the minority.
It is gratifying to know that at least I have been of some help to you.
I will get over AB and perhaps learn to live with it, but I have to stress to some ABers it is their raison d,etre.
Sqad, you underestimate your popularity on AB. Many abers seek your advice before a GP .
As for the old grumps on this thread who have been rude, ignore. :-)
I googled how to solve a problem with my ballcock back in November 2005, found this site and and here I am still and I now have the same problem! I have enjoyed the banter and good humour but some of the posters particularly in the 'News' section make me want to put a brick through the screen. Buenchico has been my favourite ABer because of his wide ranging knowledge particularly for travel, and I even find PP amusing. Ick is another favourite for his knowledge of the situation in Ukraine. Naomi because of her resilience and standing up to certain difficult posters and TTT - well just because!
lankela: ".......and TTT - well just because!" - I'll take what I can get!

I used this site originally just to find answers to problems. I have found that googling may answer most questions but sometimes you need personal experiences to advise.
I enjoy reading questions and seeing advise offered as in the future it may be something that I may need to know.
I will offer advise if I feel i have any .
I like to read the innocent and sometimes funny banter that goes on between some of the members but tune out when it starts to get silly, aggressive insulting behaviour.
On the whole it is good site to have.
It can be a place for people to feel they are not alone in their problems and others are there for them with moral support and genuine help.
