I admit I've been neglectful when it comes to giving my cat his regular flea treatment, but this last week the signs on him have been there. He's frantically running around and washing quickly. I've already been bitten 8 times by them and found one in my hair! I've given him Advocate from the vet but now have to wait another month for his next dose. I can't give double doses in one go, so what shall I do with the rest of the fleas that are around while I wait for his next dose in 3 weeks? I'm mainly asking about the few fleas on him that are left, as I can get a flea spray for the home.

the problem is that the cycle of fleas can be savage you need to fumigate the home with a spray or fumigator you need to clean all of the carpets and soft furnishings and wash all of your clothes and bedding at a high temperature if you see fleas that are not on the cat then the problem is bad already and you need to take action straight away dont let the cat go near any of...

Thank you Matilda123 and pastafreak. Worse is, my cat loves sleeping on the pillow next to me and when I get up and he jumps down, there's about 5 fleas behind. Scream.
As all my cats have been dumped on me they have all had fleas when found. All were bathed in warm water a cat shampoo in the sink. All tolerated it. While still with soap on them put on my knee in a towel and I picked of the fleas with tweezers and dumped them in a glass of wate. The cats then got a good rinse and rub dry

My cat can't be handled, sadly. He'll bite, hiss and run off. I'll have to wait for the treatment to kick in. I did ask the vet to spray him, but she wouldn't as he had Advocate at the weekend.

Just an update, I'm taking my cat to the vets. I've sprayed Indorex around the house, used Advocate last weekend, and used Bob Martin Clear spray, but still he has fleas. The worst is when he's on my bed and he gets up and there are about 4-5 fleas remaining. Here's hoping they can spray him with something! I've also got bites on my body.
The Advocate and Indorex should've definitely killed and cleared the fleas by now. I had the same problem with my two years ago and using both worked.

Hope the vet sorts it out for your cat......and you.
Ask your vet about Bravecto works well and long lasting

Just an update lovely people. The vet saturated my cat with Feliway flea treatment and I've been told to give him Advocate every two weeks for the next month and to use Indorex for a second time around the home. I also slept better last night too and didn't wake up to fleas under my cat where he'd slept. xx
:o)
Phew...that's a relief. Hope your boy is soon flea free.
