even if it were an accidental russian missile it seems it would be in everyone's interests to rapidly erm "agree" that it was in fact ukranian air defense gone wrong...

will be interesting to see if any further information about this incident comes out in 20 years or so

I do wonder why zelenskiy is continuing to deny it came from ukraine... seems like a rather inflammatory thing to do.
I think a Ukrainian tommy pressed button B rather than Button A and wont own up to it

Their inventory SHOULD be one rocket short ( they cost a bit)

and american radar should have been able to detect its path, and one end is where it took off.

Fogga war

(1945, a tommy approached my liberated papa who had agreed to treat Russian prisoners of war, and said:
You know that a brit shot a russian looter? they were looting food stores? My papa said he had heard such.
The tommy, said well that was me, and the russians are demanding a court-martial if they can find out who did it...)
Memo to Vulcan - FIFA have said that gay men in Qatar which is where the footbal is, CAN show affection ( Times article today). So perhaps the Arabic for "no tongues no tongues!" which vexed you so much, MIGHT come in useful after all.

Poles and Ukrainians, they aint no kissing the Russians today ! [The Times also carried a photo of the article 4 discussions, and our leaders and the Great and Good were looking very anxious indeed
// tommy approached my liberated papa //

Records show that German soldiers were shot for stealing food from their own civilian folk. Obviously considered a grave crime in those times.

In WW1 British soldiers could be shot for desertion. Wouldn't happen today.

Not sure how you draw a parallel?
Ukranian tommy pressing the wrong button in an act of defence. British tommy who was most likely obeying orders, in his duty to prevent a crime.

The end result was the loss of life in both cases.

However the intended purpose carried out by each tommy were in totally different circumstances. Surely?
