Can i use a tiny bit of bluetac on the turntable arm to give it a bit more weight

Just make sure it is stuck on firmly.
Used to use a penny on mine!
I used a penny too for record's that jumped ...bluetack sounds better as you can adjust the amount but I can't remember seeing it back in the late 70s early 80s?
I'm another who balanced a penny on the head of the turntable arm. :-)
If your arm doesn’t have weight adjustment then something like blu-tac is certainly usable, only problem is that it is quite light so using it to secure a penny (aah the loss of the half p!) is a good idea.
Ah....memories of the penny, me too.
