hi BHG, this new food recycling thing - can you put food in the outside caddy with no bag?

I think they expect you to use the recyclable bags which they have provided. When you've used them all they'll sell you some more.
We've decided it's just not worth using ours as we have so little food wastage; all peelings go in our composter and left-over food just doesn't exist in our house. About the only thing we would use it for is tea bags.

Our food "waste" bin only contains shellfish shells, fish and chicken bones. Peelings go on the compost heap and we never waste any food. Our council allows us to use any plastic bag to contain the contents of the food bin.
