"It is considered a break in service if you have been out of employment with a recognised NHS organisation for more than one week; a week is measured Sunday to Saturday; there should be a break of one full week from Sunday to Saturday for the break to be considered a break in service."

thankyou Buenchico would you wait if it were you. Was hoping to leave the week before christmas
It would always seem best to me to make absolutely sure that you've got a new job to go to before quitting your old one.
Why would you want to give notice before even having the interview?

An employer is not obliged to accept the withdrawal of a resignation notice so if the interview were not successful, what would you do if your current employer said you had to go?
Don't let on anything to anyone at your current job - apart from, if you must, those you can absolutely trust have your best interests at heart - that you have anything else going on until you hand in your notice. And don't hand in your notice until you have the agreed terms of your new role in writing from your new employer.

Things can fall through for many reasons and you will be glad of your current job if they do, so don't put it at risk until you know you don't need it any more.
There us nothing to stop them pulling the I terrier either, never mi d not getting it! I would always wait if I didn't want to be without a job
The interview. I have also known the NHS to rescind job offers too!
