Due to previous problems and acts of disrespect would members of the public please not consume cake or wine while waiting.
"So Joe and Jane Bloggs combined ages 176) have queued for 20 odd hours and as they unsteadily reach the steps, down which Joe has to assist Jane, they see an MP who has just more or less rocked up at a side door and is now ahead of them in line to file past the coffin. How pleased do you think they are going to feel. "

They will probably not be pleased, but plainly there is more than one queue. Life is not fair and we are not all equal. The Russian ambassador gets a seat at the funeral, Joe and Jane Bloggs have to watch on TV.
Millions of pounds being spent on flowers and just rotting away on the ground. Plane loads of flowers still being imported by the day. People in Ukraine and Pakistan NEEDING FOOD URGENTLY !!
And what a security nightmare if they were all in the queue. Lets face it MP's from both parties have been murdered and this would be a terrorists dream. Dont imagine they will take a break because The Queen has passed on.

And as mentioned above, anyone want to be stuck next to Corbyn or May for five hours?

There will always be someone needing food somewhere in the World, do you think no flowers should be bought ever?

I dont like cut flowers, I prefer them still attached to the plant but millions do
There will always be someone needing food somewhere. And why do you think that is? How many flowers do you need for one funeral.
Oh come on. I am a big Republican but I can see why the gesture.
A very expensive gesture indeed in money and lives.
Most people attending a funeral today are asked to give a donation to a given charity. The RF should now request this.

Now you have really lost me. Lives?

YMF, re the security nightmare scenario. That's why i said they should have gone en masse once the royals had left the scene and before Joe Public were allowed entry.
Yes, but that too would be a security nightmare. Whilst they are all together in the HoC it is currently like a fortress with heavily armed Police surrounding it.

Going the see the Queen where she would not be anywhere near as secure and could well be a great opportunity for an opportunist terrorist. It would also put vast swathes of the public at risk too.

Appreciate where you were going with that though.

MPs are elected to represent the people in their constituency.
My MP is paying his respects, not just as an individual, but for all the people in his constituency who wont be able to queue up for hours and hours. I wouldnt expect him to queue up to do that
If they were in the same queue it would just mean everyone having to wait longer :-)
