Not a good advert for our Royal Navy nor British engineering.

Just a bit disappointed that I have no Matelot mates to gloat over it with!

They'll just call out the RAC. Be off in no time.
RAC? For total embarrassment, get the REME in :-))

PS; and if it hadn't been for spellchecker, i would have embarrassed myself by using only one 'r' :-/
its a big ship and bound to have teething problems, not just british ship either.
Scottish built in an ex-Naval dockyard which was privatised in the 1990s

Best use the old ‘Squaddies Toolkit’ a roll of black nasty and a hammer.

(Before anyone goes all BLM, ‘black nasty’ is duct tape, nothing more simple than that).
It's not as if it was ever going to be used in anger anyway!
it's already been through teething troubles (flooding, more than once) but it was supposed be fully operational.
Maybe it was only "Oven ready"?
lol
I`m not surprised you have no Matelot mates to gloat over it with. I kind of think you spent your working life in an office.

Typical anti British remark.
Look up Gerald Ford aircraft carrier, the largest and newest one in the American fleet. It's been having "teething problems" for years.

Oh dear, the Crab Air mob and/or Fish Heads can’t take a joke.
It’s a bit of ribbing at the Navy, nothing more.

That’s your stumbling block.

The old joke in the Army was that if you bought British made equipment, it invariably failed.
We went from FN SLR’s which were perfect, did the job and were very robust, to SA80’s made by Royal Ordnance.
They were absolute pants, to put it mildly.
