Are the goods sold in QS quality seconds as I am led to believe its ' name implies ? Are the clothes 'seconds' for chain store or mail order, ? Or is it just a catchy name and the goods are not 'seconds ' at all ?

im sure that there not atcherly "second hand" but like where main shops who order in mass i.e tesco may over order and then either send um back or sell them onto "Quality Seconds" for a cheaper price then QS pass the savings onto you. ive only ever been in QS once and noticed that some of the clothes do look a bit rough and there could also be minor mistakes (stiching, transfers, etc.) and then instead of throwing them away they send sell them to QS (only the ones which are very minor mistakes.)

hope that helps.. sorry if not much is understood :P
QS originally stood for 'Quality Seconds' but the firm have been selling 'perfect' goods in their range since the 1970s:

The group went into administration last year. This resulted in many of their stores (under both the 'QS' and 'BeWise' trading names) closing. While many companies come through administration and ultimately grow stronger, QS is still facing great competition from the big supermarkets which sell cheap Chinese imports. (e.g. Asda's 'George' departments). I'd be extremely surprised if QS continue trading for much longer.

All the QS stores locally to me have closed

Their stuff was ok for children but Primark and Matalan sell much better quality stuff for about the same price
