am i allowed to put more in my suitcase to compensate for the loss of my hand luggae allowance when flying abroad

The simple answer is no. The airline gives you an allowance which will probably be on your tickets and that is what you have to stick to.

officially the answer is no and u have ur stipualted weight on ur ticket normally 20kgs if trvling in economy.
32kgs on some airlines to the US.

some airlines have given extra allowance but some have not..

check with ur airline.

have heard some good news and that is that tomorrow (22sep) that hand luggage restriction will be lifted but u still will not be aloud to take gels or liquid in ur hand luggage...
