The quickest way by rail is the fast train to Plymouth, then to Parr, and then to Newquay. It takes just over 5 hours.
Air Southwest do a direct flight from London which takes about an hour.

However, I think this time of year the pubs and stuff start shutting and I recall there isn't a huge amount to do there other than surf.
I have just got spent the bank holiday weekend in Cornwall. We stayed in Padstow, which was a very cute fishing village. It was completly over-run with tourists. There was people like us who stayed there, and then they were bused in from about 10:00.

We also went down the coast to Newquay. It is surfing oirentated. There are a lot of bars and clubs. If you went there for a holiday and didn't surf, you could still have a decent holiday. There were some nice beaches.

Holiday's in Cornwall seem to be reliant on the weather.

We were glad of our choice of staying in Padstow and going on a day trip to Newquay.

We looked at getting the train to Cornwall, and the cost was 250 per person. So we drove down from London. As it was bank holiday, I was expecting a nightmare. It took 4 hours, which I thought was pretty good.

We looked at flights as well, but they were as expensive as the train.
there is loads to do!
i am born and bred from newquay!!
easiest way to travel train from euston to par then change to newquay - not realiable in winter and does take forever)
coach from victoria to newquay
or flight to newquay - but newquay airort is out of the town centre so a taxi ride in will cost 15

when there best accomodation is to rent an apartment- will be cheaper ion the winter now, stay away from backpackers they are full of stag partys

when there surf, shop, walks to porth on cliffs are the nicest anywhere
day trips to padstow, falmouth, lands end - you are in the centre of cornwall nothing is far away!!

enjoy!
