What's Your Favourite S T N G Episode?

ok we've done TOS so lets do STNG. Conventional wisdom seems to be "The best of both worlds" and that is great but personally I prefer "Relics". That's the one with Scotty in it.

Relics is great for nostalgia, and I'll never tire of it, but I don't think it's even the greatest in Season 6.

In no particular order apart from broadcast:

The Measure of a Man (S2)
Yesterday's Enterprise (S3)
The Offspring (S3)
Sins of the Father (S3) (literally these three episodes are in a row in official order, S3 was crazy good).
Best of Both Worlds (S3/4)
Clues (S4)
The Nth Degree (S4)
The Drumhead (S4, starring Jean Simmons and two of the all-time great Picard speeches)
Cause and Effect (S5)
The First Duty (S5)
I, Borg (S5)
The Inner Light (S5, possibly the absolute greatest TNG episode ever imo)
Chain of Command (S6)
Attached (S7)
Lower Decks (S7)
All Good Things (S7)

I did have to look up the episode list to remind me of a few of these, but I could recite the plots to most of them backwards. Thanks for awakening the Trek nerd in me :)

The Inner Light is beautifully acted by Sir Patrick, simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming, Best of Both Worlds is the best Star Trek movie (n)ever made (If you put the two-parter together) and The Measure of a Man made me feel sympathy rather than apathy towards Ryker.

Yep, love "the inner light" Mozz, great story and great idea for a story.

Another favourite of mine is "The Ensigns of Command" - it focuses on Data, Brent Spiner is just amazing in the whole series of course.

Ensigns of Command is underrated for sure :) Data episodes are often great, so philosophical -- but for me my favourite part of the episode is when Picard decides to make the aliens wait while he checks the Enterprise bridge for signs of excess dust :)

it's the whole scene jim where he ties them up with the wording in the contract that they had been using on Picard for the whole episode.
