Coming Home Tomorrow,

We have been away with two friends for New Year. We came to Street in Somerset. Stayed at the Bear hotel. A bit disappointed with the hotel. Because we wanted groundfloor rooms we are staying in cottages down the road from the hotel. Accomadation is fine but hotel closed at six pm NY day. No food or drink beyond that time. We went on a hunt in the town. Nearly everywhere shut. Found pizza express was just open. Had a meal there but they wanted o close at 8.30!! Parking in town horrendous even with disabled badge. High street too narrow to park. Managed to park near Clarke's village which was great. But we got locked in. Had to get security to let us out. What a one horse town Street is. No pubs open at all. Ended up back at cottages having a drink with friends in bed room. Thankfully we can go home in the morning. NYE was okay in hotel but strange to have to go down the road to bedrooms after the event.
Still great to get away with friends.

When we arrived on NYE we drove down the Main Street, very impressed with the numbers of shops. Also the Clarkes shopping village which we managed to see, very good. But it's the lack of pubs and eating places that were open yesterday that was the problem. But never mind, we had great company and are coming home after breakfast.
