I bought one last year and use it so rarely I forget I have it.

We're not music lovers and prefer a quiet house, although I do occasionally use it as a radio. Sadly I wouldn't know where to start to link it to other devices or lights and I use a calendar to remember appointments.

Have used one at my cousin's home, but not some thing I need or want. I need to keep mobile and it would make me less mobile. I found it invasive. It kept telling me that it didn't understand when I was talking to my cousin. That was an Alexa, not an Echo Dot. Mind you, incontinence like my mobile either, I find that invasive!

A bit like you Maydup, we like a quiet house, although im a music lover. Husband can read all-day and all night. I am quite happy with the radio and CDs. New don't do gadgets.
