That’s was alarming for an hour.
We were with BG and on a dual rate electric supply deal.
Thus BG got two readings from our smart meter.
Back in August BG managed to wind me up so much with their service plan etc that I vowed never to use them again for anything.
So switched to Eon.Next on a fix rated deal for 2 years.
Then the commotion over the costs of gas hit the news etc and I was thankful I did switch to a longer fixed rate deal , so BG via their diabolical customer service actually did us a favour :-)

Anyway new deal with eon.next has one charge rate for electric , but they insist on two readings , one from low rate meter and the standard rate.
Low rate meter has not changed since we left BG (as expected) snd standard rate meter records consumption.
End of October I submitted both readings for electric.
Today I got a bill showing they had taken standard rate reading for both meters and I got a electric bill as below ;
Electricity £896.91 DR
23rd August 2021 — 26th October 2021
That works out at 68KW a day usage.

Was expecting a knock on door from the police to ask to see the loft incase we had a cannabis farm lol

Spoke to eon.next and error corrected and charge now £41 :-)

all's well that ends well, double check the readings in the future.
Funny, I left Eon because of their total inability to correct an administrative error.

I'm now with British Gas.
Swings and Roundabouts. :-)
You are lucky. My problem with that company was not easily sorted, took months after my contract should have ended and even took the Ombudsman a lot of sorting out. I ended up out of pocket and am still furious about it
