we are travelling to new york city for 5days late 2007.
does anyone have any recommendations for apartment accommadation for 4 adults suitable for easy access to the city's famous landmarks

Radio City Apartments always seem to get good reviews- check out Tripadvisor. They are fairly central in Manhatten, so should be convenient for most things.
