Do you ever use film or TV quotes in your day to day life? If often find myself using the following:-
"D'oh!" "You're terrible, Muriel" "Ten bucks and my left nut says" "Now how's about that for a piece of fried gold?" "Go on, go on, go on, go on, GO ON!"
When struggling to understand goings-on (a frequent occurrence), I sometimes find myself saying "what in tarnation?" in tribute to 70s cartoon legend Deputy Dawg. I have been known to refer to people by the term "ya pesky varmint" too.
Isn't "you pesky varmint" Yosemite Sam?! "Ooooohhhhhh, that r-a-a-a-bbit!"
"If it wasn't for those meddling kids" is quite a good one to crowbar in every now and then
Thanks for the Muriel explanation, kick. I saw that film but have little memory of it, other than finding it irritating they crowbarred in the Abba thing, presumably with an eye on the trailers. I love Toni Collette though, she's very sexy, not so much in that film perhaps but nowadays - wow.
'And fling...' Carry on camping
'No, not the harp' Carry on don't lose your head
'How very dare you' Catherine Tate
'Ooh, and don't forget...' Gladys, Hi-de-hi
'Normally they serve cruotons/most people serve croutons' You rang m'lord (Can't remember the exact quote as I met someone years after who had a different memory and now I don't remember what it was.
the best film for quotes i found was "Wayne's World". Thats were "Thats not good thats not supposed to happen" comes from and the classic "got 5 thousand dollars Got 5 thousand dollars " pure genius !!!!!!!!!
