as long as Bristol are still going... But if you find you've been switched to another provider, compare their prices carefully.
Who names an energy company Igloo?!

Like calling a water company “Drought”!
as long as i remain on the contract with my energy company and for the next two years don't put up prices i don't care.
They’ve been good to us and I was happy to be with them , when I go to EON I’ll be looking on a Comparison site to get the best offer , at least Look after my Bills will do it for me
Not really good news though is it?

The big fish eating up the little fish. As the market contracts, so does the competition and in the long run, consumers will suffer by paying more.
as long as my company doesn't expect to renege on our deal i am not worried.
Made me smile there ich :-)

Gromit, the problem is many of these companies were not even "little fish", their business model was appalling and not much better than a ponzi scheme. Competition is good but with something like energy it needs to come from stable companies with a strong business model. I think OFGEM should look at regulating how these companies do their business in the future.
Poor people. I was with Eon. Never again.
I was with Eon at my old house. Now with Bulb. Not sure what the future holds for Bulb.
Competition is good gromit (tho I still wonder if its better if energy was nationalized again) but IMO there were too many suppliers and as most suppliers had dozens of tarriffs there was too much choice and it just led to confusion. To me its better to have just 4 or5 large supplier's whos forced to compete by goverment approved comparison sites/league table and by for example local authoritys using block purchase deals for council houses or sites like Martin Lewis constantly moving people to cheapest deal each year
// as long as my company doesn't expect to renege on our deal i am not worried. //

My supplier Bulb have just put my direct debit up by 60% despite me being in credit and my last usage being less than I paid them. I am switching because they have essentially put my bill up by over £400 a year.
Gromit - I am looking to change supplier to. I paid £60 a month duel fuel with a small credit left over at the end of the year. I expected my D/D to go up but they want £100 a month!! Even with the increase that is way over the top and will leave me with a big credit at the end of the contract. Rang them to query this but they seem to think that is what my usage is. I went through it with them and they could not argue with the calculations but said I need to pay £100 to start with. Stuff that I said and told them I would be looking elsewhere, I have had 2 quotes already at around £80 to £85 a month.
perhaps your energy firms are just trying to protect you from the energy price hike that is happening/about to explode?
£60 a month - I wish. Mines close to £250!
christ on a bike, are you heating buck palace TTT? and cooking meals for 200 every day? and drawing 300 baths pm?
It's a very big House, 1905 6 large bedrooms 3 receptions 2 en suites and a big bathroom (And yes the wife has this large deep corner bath ) also 9' 6" ceilings downstairs 9' upstairs. The hallway/stairs has one of those large windows as does the back of the house( 11'6" across on the bays and about 4' high.

Was hoping to downsize to 4 bed as only 2 of us but nowhere to move to. Plenty want to buy but no point if cant find somewhere else.

sorry, i dont know why i mistook you for TTT!
that makes sense. i was thinking of mine (110pm). we live in a 3 bedder though, with 2 people who'd rather turn the thermostat up than put a jumper on, and 1 person who likes to have every single light on in the house, even if she's not in the rooms she's lighting
Thats ok bednobs - I dont mind being confused with TTT!

WFH hasnt helped, it all used to be off during the day, plus we have had babies (grandchildren) a lot that need to keep warm.
