I have a job interview tomorrow to be an activities worker in a mental health centre in London. I am so desperate to get this job and really want to impress them at the interview but I'm worried I won't come across as confident because I have no background in this type of work. Does anyone that works within this sector (or not) have any advice or tips they could give me? It would be much appreciated, I'm so nervous! Thank you.

You need to come over as caring and compassionate. A sense of humour (your`e laughing with them not at them.) Do you know what activities you are doing or do you need to find your`e own. I rehearsed for an interview and then was thrown by the first question..... How would you tell a special needs person they had BO? If this is the type of work you want to do just be yourself and you`ll be fine.Good luck.

Thanks for your answer oldwoman. I took your advice and just tried to be myself and the interview went well. There were 6 other people shortlisted so if any of them have relevant qualifications they will overshadow me, but I still feel happy for the fact that I managed to get shortlisted!

Luckily I didn't have any really nasty questions - I think if they had asked me the question you got asked I would have been well and truely stumped!

Thanks again, I really appreciated having your answer x
