Toshiba laptop fan problem

Hi. My laptop has started shutting off instantly when it gets too hot.

I had a similar problem about 5 months ago when it was still under warranty and was told that it was probably dust in the fan. PC World took it away and repaired it.

Now, it's happening again but the laptop's warranty has expired. Just so I don't get ripped off, how much should I be looking to pay to get this repaired?

Thanks.

Hi,
You could talk to PC World and see what they say, if they repaired it 5 months ago do you get a warentee on the repair? I wouldn't think so, not for 5 months but worth a try.

Are you using your laptop where the vents might get blocked? Some people use there laptop on the sofa, so there is no ware for the heat to escape from, so make sure all the vents are free, could try cleaning they out with a Paint brush or something like that.
