Thanks spudqueen. Is it pricey?
our Henrys been going for about 15 years, he's a beast
Miele ..we have got the cat and dog one .They do use bags though but you can reuse them if you are careful. I think we paid about 85. Brilliant cleaner .I had a Dyson upright ..useless thing . It wasn't a bad cleaner, but so heavy and doing the stairs with it was a nightmare plus that horrible cylinder which you have to empty but ends up emptying itself all over where you have just vacuumed. It now resides in the loft ! Not broken or anything and handy I suppose if the other one breaks.

Thanks boink and shaneystar..... I dont have pets, just messy kids! ... so am I being thick here thinking the one you got shaney was aimed at people with pets. Or was it just the name of it? DER!
Get a Henry - they're the dogs Bo!!cks
Well ..yes ..we have a large hairy dog ! But Miele do other models . My brother bought the Allervac Sensor 5000 which is here

More expensive but he is pleased with it.
It depends what you want from a vacuum cleaner really ..we went for the cat and dog because of the dog obviously .I like my Miele because it's light ,all the tools are on board unlike that wretched Dyson where I had to cart them around in plastic bag ,and it has great suction ,gets all the dirt and gritty bits up and you get right up to corners and into places where the Dyson never dared to go !
We have stripped floorboards in the whole house no fitted carpets only rugs etc so it's ideal for me. My bro on the other hand is carpeted up to his armpits so that one is ideal for him.
They use Henry's in the NHS in my trust, seem good.
These are the best you can get, also have carpet shampoo att. ours is still perfect after 12 years hard use.

very expensive though...........

1000-1400!
Miele Miele every time !! Hey we all say this every time we have this question !!!
Most definitely Miele. Mine is an S5120 (cylinder) and it's the doggies doodoos. I've had countless vacuums over the years but this is the best. (I also chucked out a Dyson)
HENRY every time why do you think professional cleaning companies the NHS, hotels etc use them ALL THE TIME .
mine is as good as the day i bought it & i use it for home & work aswell & im a messy builder.. Cost in my area for a new HENRY is about 79
