yingying, I know you must be worried, as I would have been too. I don't know how old your baby is, but I found the following website for you, which might help. I was surprised that medical research shows the following: Moderate caffeine consumption has not been shown to be harmful to adults or children. While individual sensitivity varies, children appear to be no more susceptible to the effects of caffeine than adults. Studies have shown that moderate amounts of caffeine do not cause hyperactivity, or increase the risk of cancer, osteoporosis, or cardiovascular disease. Check out http://www.kidsnutrition.org/consumer/archives /deca-coffee.htm. You must miss your baby so much. I do hope you can be together again very soon. Best of luck.
I have also looked at web sites and can find no evidence that coffee will injure your child. I suppose she is following what she has always done. I have clinked on the link that car gave above and am getting page cannot be displayed.

Hello Carakeel and PeaPod, thank u so much for ur answer. I feel relieved when i read ur ans. my baby will be one year this end of month. thanks.
All of our children have drunk coffee and green tea/ herbal teas also and we always feed them whatever it is we are eating pureed (we don't cook with salt) as I prefer fresh food for babies to canned stuff you buy in shops. It's also fine to let her eat and drink when she wants to as we do this also, it just makes your baby happy and contented.Sounds like your parents are doing a great job and I hope you and your baby can be together again soon.
Not sure I understand why anyone would want to give their young baby coffee. It isn't something I would do, but each to their own.
I never let my daughter drink tea or coffee, she'll be four at the end of the year. Drinking tea and coffee stops the body absorbing as much iron as it should
