Mr Tambourine Man - The Byrds .......... my favourite song of all time from 1965, I was 17 years old and met my future wife at local youth club, everytime I hear it I am back there.
I'll select this because Mud were performing it live at one of our college balls while I was trying to chat up a lovely redhead, called Gill, who I ended up going out with for quite some time ;-)
10c, I agree there’s some lovely memories here.
Chris I loved Mud’s Tiger feet , the one I didn’t like was Lonely This Christmas from them, it always made me think of those that had lost someone either by parting or them passing away….which is why it was recorded anyway :0))))
S.Peter ,Mr Tambourine Man reminds me of when four of us aged about 16/17 went in one of the girl’s parents caravan up at Amble in Northumberland , we’d get dressed to the nines with our full skirts and can can slips ,to go to the local funfair on the site ,especially the waltzer where we’d get spun by young lads working it and would hear songs such as I got you babe and the Stones, Satisfaction which were out around the same time as the Byrds
