Hi there, I am planning on recording myself playing some specific pieces of music for my father for Christmas. So far, I have the signature theme to the movie "The piano", "My Father's favourite" and "Sleep now sad fountains" from Sense and sensibility and also The second section for Beethoven's pathetique sonata (The Billy Joel Theme!). I plan to record it at home (hubby's is doing that part) and pressing it onto a DVD and designing my own album cover. the title of the Album will be "My Father's Favourite" and I plan to video myself with the kids and at the beach and my hands playing etc etc (arty crafty stuff) to form the visual part of the music DVD. Now I have set the scene, can anyone recommend any other pieces of music of a similar length, difficulty (I'm not very good at piano) and theme? I am only just getting into this style as I normally play very fugal/baroquey type pieces and Daddy doesn't really like them, he prefers much more Romanticesque music.

Many thanks. Mimi.

What about some Debussy? eg.Claire de Lune (Suite Bergamasque, no. 3)
What a lovely idea Mimi.

My own Father's favourite was Moonlight Sonata. Any good to you?
