Lloyds, at least, has a maximum cheque amount they will accept through the app. I got a big refund from HMRC by cheque and could only post it, whereupon it took over a month to arrive. (OK, from Spain & at Christmas.)

HSBC's limit is £500 per cheque with a daily maximum of £750.
