He listens to the snow warning on the radio, sets off in plenty of time, and drives or walks to work as usual.
He would most likely walk or ski there. For obvious reasons a municipal authority would not be likely to employ someone who lived an innaccessibly far distance from the location of the snowplough. Are there any other Steven Wright jokes you'd like to pass off as serious questions? Most of them do have entirely legitimate answers...
In Cumbria there are sensors around the county which predict the likelihood of snow. One guy gets the data (a friend of mine actually) and he makes the decision where and when to have drivers on standby. We cope with adverse weather very well, I have only once since 1983 failed to get to work.
dont know how he got to work but we used to live 3 doors from a snowplough driver and we had the clearest bit of road in the country because he used to come home at regular intervals for cups of tea.
Futhermore, what does he do in the summer? (perhaps drive an ice cream van)
