Knowing that you are going to have to attend your own mothers funeral in a taxi!!!
Not whining as the world is in the same boat but never envisioned this a few years ago
We dont all own our own transport.
But having to attend a loved ones funeral in a taxi???

I'm dreading it!
''Stoke Cabs, where to?''
''The Crem please, as soon as possible. Im seeing my mother off''
''5-10 minuets sir is that ok?''
''Yes, thank you''

Cabs usually punctual but having to attend a your own mothers send off in a cab?
(as per government guidlines)

I’ll be dead, jno - I won’t care.

I hope to be quietly donated to science or broken up for spares - but (if she outlives me ) I expect to be delivered by Gness in her beloved Honda.
And, as our funeral director is also our local postie, if the Honda doesn't start we'll use the An Post van.
Does it really matter how you get there? Really? It wouldn't bother me in the least. Being there is the important thing. Just book the taxi.
Like others, I can't really see the difference between taxis and funeral cars - apart from the cost, that is! They're both just cars, driven by strangers, taking you from A to B in return for payment.

I like the way they do things in Florida though ;-)

I don't know who is paying for the funeral but hearses and limos aren't cheap.

I'd just be glad that the lockdown restrictions are not as strict.
Direct cremations are the way to go, no fuss,no prolonging the pain of your loved ones by planning and attending the funeral and of course a lot cheaper. Not everyone’s choice of course, but worth thinking about.
Pre book it Nailit and think of it as a private car and a driver, which it is. Explain that you'd like another car afterwards and will phone in when you're ready to leave.

Believe me you wouldn't want to be driving yourself to the crem if you had a car.

Agree with Maydup x
To be honest how you get there is no big deal, we could not afford the limo for my fathers funeral or any other extras. I would be fine with a taxi.
my mother didn't make provision for cars, she did everything else, so my brother had to organise it, and the money came out of her estate...
i wouldn't worry going by cab, its the being there that matters.
No more suffering for her and no more agony for you seeing her in pain. RIP.
Hope all goes well at the funeral and all best wishes to you and family.
