In the 70's my friend's parents came back from a Greek Island,Crete I think, with a red wine. The wine appeared to have a unique taste and I've recently tried to identify it.It had an antiseptic sort of taste and it may have been derived from melon/watermelon.I'm not usually a big fan of red wine but this I liked. Yes, I've tried Demestica but I dont feel this is it. Can anyone identify it?

it sounds like a retsina which is resinated and would account for the antiseptic taste but as for which one, who knows?
oh sorry, you said red
It wasn't Commandaria was it? My Aunty and Uncle used to go to Greece in the 1970s and they used to bring that back which I thought was terribly sophisticated at the time.
retsina - o god

No clues on the label ?
