All eyes will now be on the mid terms in '22 to see if there is a pointer to '24.
Well done Mr Trump.
And yet, as Togo says, Trump is far and away the current preferred candidate. Four years is a long time in politics, but in the US, with its never-ending election cycles, when is there even time for the Republicans to take a breather and rid themselves of his legacy?

I don't think Trump would *win* in 2024, but I'm not sure that the Republicans will be able to stop him winning their primaries, assuming that he's allowed to run legally. More likely, his family might persuade him that the best way to preserve his legacy is to let someone like Ivanka or Junior run in his place. Which would also be a disaster -- especially with DTJr, like father like son -- but there we are.
Impeachment was always going to be a farce. The Republicans were never going to vote for it.
Now that is over, I expect a year of real Courts and Judges and Juries that are not pre-nobbled.
Trump will be tainted (and poorer) by the litigation and will fade away noisily.
