Hi,

I can record tv programmes to an external 2TB hard drive but what's the minimum size that can be used (hdd or memory stick) ? I know it's not possible on a 32GB stick, so somewhere in between.

are you sure?

I tried & it didn't work, whereas it did work using the 2TB hdd.

For what it's worth, I found a near identical question (from 2013/14) on another forum where looks as tho' it depends on the tv manufacturer. I'm trying to do it from an LG tv, same as the poster there. Things may have changed in the last 7 years (?) tho'.
What does the user manual say about support for USB memory sticks? The manual for my Samsung TV says "USB memory sticks are not supported"
USB sticks are often formatted in FAT32, HDDs are usually formatted as NTFS. It could be that your TV needs NTFS for recording to work; check the TV manual.

Don't know etch, isn't my tv.
Will try find out the model number, see if I can find a manual online, else maybe I'll just bite the bullet & get the smallest hdd I can find.
Thanks all :)
