Yes, but you need to dry it, eat lots of it, and it tastes revolting. and then to be honest you just can't see verywell and get a headache. Much less hassle to stick with good old fashioned narcotics, I think [not that I condone that sort of behaviour, of course.]
According to Charles Perry's "The Haight Ashbury: a History" - as I recall - the psychotropic banana skin thing was a scam. can't remember the full details, but can dig the book out if required.
