I hope I word this correctly?...I am trying to find a DAB radio with a cassette recorder...yes, a recorder, not one that just plays, but one that records as well, off the radio for example. The Soundmaster SCD 7900 sounds right, until you read the specs and the cassette is only a player, not a recorder as well. I am busy trying to look through Amazon, then googling exact items for more info, but there are loads of cassettes, but none specified as recorders...they are players, naturally! So, I thought AB would be the best place to ask if anyone has a or knows of a DAB radio with cassette recorder! Ta Muchly and Take Care All!

Many Thanks for your research BHG and it's certainly got a tape recorder, but a lot more other unnecessary stuff (for me) and it doesn't say whether it records from radio, which is my main need...and a big price too, as would no doubt any Roberts stuff which might appear - I just need summat which will tape from the radio, DAB and FM.
Must it record on to cassette? How about record to cd or your phone or pc's hard drive?
What stations do you want to record?
This one will def allow you to record from the radio:

This records to an SD card Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
No DAB radio on that one, Brainiac
Well, better a non-DAB radio that does record, than a DAB radio that doesn't!

It's mainly to record offBBC 4 Extra, which is on DAB and I prefer onto tape, as I am not then restricted to listen at my pc and it's always handy to have a tape ready at any time to record...I have missed so many programmes through not having a tape ready!
You can play Radio 4 Extra on your pc. If you have suitable cables you should be able to connect any cassette recorder to your pc and record your radio programmes

Okay Barry, these cables being...?
Woodelf, I never was any good with cables and stereo setups, that sort of thing. I don't understand RCA or Y or male/female cables. I bet there are people who do. I do know most cables are fairly cheap so it is well worth a go. Try posting another question about the cable needed to record audio from PC to cassette player. I've had a Google for you but it went over my head. Some used the headphone jack and some used other connections.

So, we're both in a fix then, eh?...never mind Barry, the whole thing is only meant to be a back up to what I've got already, just in case, but I'd like to get it sorted...if only Amazon etc would be more verbose in the info they have on their sites, but then, they're only after the money, stuff the hassle, eh!
I don't really get why you don't like the very portable DAB radio that I linked to earlier. it is cheap and records to a SD card which is probably more convenient than a cassette. You can play the sd card back in the player, your pc and many other devices.
it would be easy to record old programmes from BBCC iPlayer to SD card on your pc, too
