Went to have a blood sample taken yesterday and asked the nurse. We all know the vaccine has got to be stored below -80. Is it allowed to warm up before administering. (defeating the object ) Is it still liquid at -80 and injected as is. Nurse didn’t know. Any links. Thanks.

This was explained on Midlands Today, can't remember the details but its mixed with saline, I think.
Batch removed and stored in fridge -5 ish, brought from fridge to location of use room temperature and diluted with room temperature saline just before it is given.

Once it's defrosted it's ok in a fridge for about five days but they seem to be working on a 24-36 hour plan at the moment
if it was put into your arm at -80c your arm would drop off
I used to work on a ward where some of the treatments given had to be stored at around this temp. The freezer was on another level of the hospital. We had to wait for it to defrost before administering (it was a lump rather than liquid when frozen) I used to be the one sent to get it always as I had the most ample bosom so if I carried it up to the ward in my cleavage, we could shave some timeoff the defrosting process :)
yes it is warmed up
( but becomes unstable )
so the one dose divided into 175 has to be used in that session

which I dont think is a big deal - you open the doors and shout
roll up roll up - and all the winos etec
