has anyone shopped around very recently for a loan?? I want to change my car and although i can afford to buy new one i think it would be sensible to keep money in bank for rainy day and borrow. whats the going rate at moment?

You'd be better off spending your savings, the interest that you'll spend on repaying a loan will far outweigh any interest you'll earn on the same amount over the period of the loan, you can then make regular payments back into your savings instead of paying off the loan. Failing that the dailymail website has some good info on loans etc

You might get 0% on some new cars at a dealer - look around to see if there are any offers. Ford have them quite a lot.
