British Police Officer Killed...............
62 Answers
........whilst on holiday. Did you hear about that? It happened approximately 5 weeks ago in Slovakia. He was in a bar and tried to stop a fight when they turned on him and killed him. He leaves a wife and two young children. I don't recall Bojo the Clown making any statement about it in the commons. The police officers' wife is my daughters' best friend and they have known each other since they were children. The whole country should have as much sympathy for this officers' family as there is being shown, rightly, for the officer who died in Croydon.

I inform this website of the death of a police officer; question the lack of knowledge about it, or lack of comments anywhere, even from the PM and everyone turns on me as a result. What's bitter and twisted about that? The officer in question was a member of GMP. Some people are obnoxious on this website.
10C, I wasn't going to say what is on my mind out of respect for you but you have been incredibly rude so I won't hold back.
Have you thought that the widow may have asked the Chief Constable for no publicity?
Maybe the Slovakian government has requested no publicity for the time being.
Maybe there is something unsavoury about the whole thing that the government and police force wants to keep quiet. For example:
What were the lockdown rules in force at the time he went to Slovakia? Was it 'essential travel only' from the UK?
What about the lockdown rules in Slovakia? Should he have been drinking in a bar?
Does the Slovakian authorities think there is a possibility that the office duty police officer instigated the brawl or otherwise acted illegally?
Was he on a stag do and drunk out of his skull?
I have already said that every murder is a tragedy and I will repeat what I and others have already said.
He was an off duty police officer in a foreign bar, he was not murdered in the course of duty, he was just another Brit abroad enjoying a holiday. That makes his murder very different from the police officer who was shot in the custody suite.

Bojo must have, Bob, not must of. Very poor grammar there. Just to repeat, a British police officer was murdered whilst on holiday in Svlovakia. He was a serving member of Greater Manchester Police. I don't know why there are no reports of his death. He wasn't on a stag night. He was with his wife and children when he was murdered in front of them. I know about it because I was with my daughter when she took the message from the officers' wife. As far as I know, there was no request from anyone about anonnymity. But I suppose I'm still bitter, twisted and rude, eh?
it is pretty unusual, Clarion. Normally if a Brit gets lost in the Australian outback or falls off a balcony in Spain or is captured by brigands in Colombia it at least rates a mention in the British press.
If there's nothing in your local paper, perhaps they just haven't heard. Give them a call (if you've still got a local paper). If they print it, there's a good chance one or more of the national papers will pick it up.

A tried to post on the tragic chilledout thread but it isnt allowing anymore posts, 10clarionst.
You asked //I wanted to know why Bojo the Clown hadn't mentioned it. Not that he was trying to supress the truth. That was the interpretation by some misguided users on here.//
Perhaps no-ones been able to find a link to the story to show him as the press havent reported it, and maybe Bojo dosen't read Answer Bank. You could ask your MP or Kier to ask him in PM Questions
